On Father's Day, the activity was Daddy's choice, so we explored more Gunpowder Falls State Park trails, this time in Fallston. He had already been there several times fishing with the children and wanted to see more of the woods. The narrow trail closely paralleled the river and we made many discoveries.
The most unusual one was this tiny frog. Ben was the first to spot it at the edge of the river, and if he hadn't I think it would have gotten crushed by 12 romping feet:
I've been through every amphibian guide I own, searched online, and still don't feel I have a sure identification. This is a young frog, so it may have different colorings and markings than its adult counterpart.
It has a rather stubby nose and you can see that its dark spots have a golden-yellow center. It's the most unusual frog I've come across.
We never tire of exploring the water and its edge:

Oh, no is that Zeb?! Lol. You are BRAVE!
I was at my friend Suzi's last week and saw "Peepers." She said once there were so many hopping around her yard that they looked like a swarm of spiders. Eek. Anyway, they were the teeniest little things. You probably know all about them.
By the way, I followed the link from Crafty Crow to here! Congratulations!!
